Yes. Every feature that exists today is on the free tier with no limits: no cap on watchlist assets or portfolio holdings, every chart range from 1D to 5Y, all five technical indicators, comparison, news, sentiment, the events calendar, performance reporting, multi-currency totals and the Academy. There is no trial to expire and no card to enter.
You cannot buy it. Pro is reserved for placing orders directly from TradeKilla, and order placement is not built, so checkout is disabled. We show the plan so you know what is planned, but we will not take your money for something that does not work. We will update this page before Pro becomes purchasable.
There is nothing to cancel, because no subscription can be purchased today. No one is being charged and no payment details are collected.
Time-weighted return (TWR) measures what your investments did, stripping out the effect of when you added or removed money. Money-weighted return (XIRR) includes those cash flows and answers a different question: what did your actual invested capital earn. They will disagree, and both are correct — they are answering different questions. Adding a large deposit makes XIRR look worse than TWR, because most of the capital was invested late.
XIRR needs cash flows to solve for. If you only added holdings manually and never recorded deposits or withdrawals, there are no flows to weigh, so there is no meaningful XIRR to report. Recording your transactions — by hand or via a Portfolio Performance import — is what makes it work.
It means your position history was reconstructed rather than recorded. When we do not have real transactions, we infer how many units you held at each point in time and label the result as estimated. Add or import your transaction history and the estimate turns into a measured figure.
It imports your transaction history — buys, sells, dividends, fees and deposits — after showing you a preview you have to confirm. Transactions are what make TWR and XIRR accurate, because both are computed from cash flows rather than from today's holding quantity. It imports transactions only; it does not overwrite your current holdings.
Not yet. The ledger is captured and stored, but deriving realised gains from it is still to come. The import warns you about this so you are not left waiting on a number that does not render.
Yes. Add holdings with a quantity and average cost, or import a generic CSV. Manual holdings give you total value, P&L and allocation immediately. Recording deposits and withdrawals is what unlocks accurate money-weighted returns.
Each holding keeps its own currency, and totals are converted to a common base using daily ECB reference rates from Frankfurter, which needs no API key. Conversions are cached and refreshed automatically.
Because no exchange rate was available for them. We would rather show you an incomplete total with a clear count than invent a rate and quietly inflate or deflate your net worth. Those holdings still appear individually — they are just left out of the aggregate.
Not yet. Totals are currently presented in US dollars. Converting the whole interface to a chosen base currency is not implemented.
Five, all computed on your device from the candle data: simple and exponential moving averages, Bollinger Bands, RSI using Wilder's smoothing, and MACD with its signal line and histogram. Each one toggles on and off from the chart toolbar.
Quotes come from Finnhub for stocks, ETFs and indices, and from CoinGecko for crypto, with a maximum delay of about 30 seconds. Data is cached server-side so pages load quickly and refreshes in the background. FX reference rates and event calendars update on a slower cadence, because the underlying sources publish daily or every few hours.
Yes. Add assets to the comparison view to chart them on shared axes, toggle between absolute price and percentage change, and read a summary table with each asset's period return, high, low and volume. Your own portfolio can be added as a series alongside them.
Only two: the market summary ticker and the S&P 500 heatmap on the dashboard. The candlestick charts and the comparison view are our own, built on a charting library rather than an embedded TradingView widget.
It can be. The heatmap is an embedded TradingView widget, and it renders blank when TradingView's script fails to load or paint on our end — we have seen it render blank in isolation too, which points at their widget rather than our code. Everything else on the dashboard is unaffected.
Nine. Four on the basics — what a stock, ETF and cryptocurrency are, and the prerequisites for investing — plus five on technical analysis: what technical analysis is, candlestick patterns, support and resistance, trend analysis, and indicators and oscillators. The fundamental analysis and portfolio management courses are outlined but not written yet, so they are labelled as being written instead of counting toward the total.
Yes. We deliberately do not gate educational content. Teaching people to use the platform is what turns a visitor into a user, and the paid tier that would justify gating it does not exist yet.
With Google or with an email address and password. Both are handled by Supabase: it hashes and stores your password, and TradeKilla never sees it in plain text. If you sign in with Google, we never receive your Google password at all. You can reset an email password from your account.
Only you. Your data lives in a Postgres database behind Row Level Security, so the database itself refuses to return one account's rows to another. We do not sell your data or share your portfolio.
We use essential cookies for sign-in and session management only. There is no third-party analytics and no advertising tracking. Your financial activity is sensitive information, and we do not want a profile of it.
Your holdings and transactions are yours, and you can see them all through the API at any time. A one-click CSV export of your holdings is not built yet — if you need one now, contact welcome@tradekilla.com and we will help. To delete your account and everything in it, contact the same address and we will remove it.
